The bill (Reg. No. 3236-1) is aimed at strengthening responsibility for polluting the environment which has to ensure the right of citizens to safe environment.
Particularly, it is suggested to increase amount of fines for polluting and/or contaminating water and water sheds, particularly located on lands of recreational and health-improving purposes, forest littering, as well as violation of rules of handling domestic waste.
According to the Committee members, adoption of the bill will promote rational use and environmental protection, creating more efficient mechanism of restraint of violations of legislation in the field of environmental protection and of eliminating its negative consequences.
